The Star Online (31/10/2017) - KUALA LUMPUR: The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Tuesday Oct 31.

FUNDAMENTALS

* Malaysian palm oil futures rose on Monday to their strongest in a month and a half, tracking gains in rival edible oilseed soy on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT).

* U.S. soybean futures turned lower on Monday on forecasts for crop-boosting rains in some areas of Brazil and as technical selling and month-end positioning weighed on the market.

* Oil prices were stable early on Tuesday, supported by a tightening market due to ongoing OPEC-led efforts to cut supplies, although the prospect of rising U.S. shale output dragged.

MARKET NEWS

* Asian stocks were mostly sluggish on Tuesday following weakness on Wall Street, while the dollar sagged following news that investigators probing Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election had charged President Donald Trump's former campaign manager.
