Palm oil/Vegoils: Market factors to watch Monday Oct 30
The Star Online (30/10/2017) - KUALA LUMPUR: The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Monday Oct 30.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures were virtually flat on Friday, giving up most early gains as profit taking emerged and the market was cautious ahead of export data due early next week.
* U.S. wheat futures fell on Friday, their third straight day of declines, as a firm dollar further dampened the already poor prospects for U.S. supplies on the export market, traders said.
* Oil markets were firm on Monday, with Brent crude opening above $60 per barrel on expectations an OPEC-led production cut due to expire next March would be extended.
MARKET NEWS
* Asian shares climbed on Monday and crude oil rose to a 2-year top, while the euro loitered around a 3-month low as the European Central Bank's decision to extend its stimulus further fattened the dollar's yield advantage.
