The Star Online (17/10/2017) - KUALA LUMPUR: The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Tuesday Oct 17.

FUNDAMENTALS

* Malaysian palm oil futures extended gains on Monday evening, recording a fourth straight day of wins tracking higher crude oil prices and stronger export data from cargo surveyors.

* Chicago Board of Trade soybean futures weakened on Monday, dipping below the $10-per-bushel threshold the market hit for the first time in 2-1/2 months last week.

* Crude prices rose 1 percent on Monday as Iraqi forces entered the oil-rich city of Kirkuk, seizing territory from Kurdish fighters and briefly cutting some crude output from OPEC's second-largest producer.

MARKET NEWS

* Oil prices held firm on Tuesday after Iraqi forces seized the oil-rich city of Kirkuk from largely autonomous Kurdish fighters while Asian shares look set to extend their bull run on optimism about upcoming earnings.
