Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

28/09/2017 (APP) - Six ships C.V X-Press Kailash, C.V Maersk Hartford, C.V MSC Tomoko, M.V Hong Xing, M.T Miranda and M.T CTG Cobalt carrying containers, Project cargo, Chemical and Phosphoric Acid were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA) here on Wednesday.

Meanwhile three more ships M.T Maritime Vanessa, M.T Epic Sardinia and M.T Black Pearl-110 carrying Palm oil and LPG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was observed at the Port at 65% on Tuesday where a total of eleven ships namely X-Press Kailash, Maersk Hartford, MSC Tomoko, C.V Bruxelles, Hong Xun, Nireas, YM Miranda, CTG Cobalt, Ever Rich-6, Bunga Aster and Mer Babu were occupied at PQA berths to load/ offload Containers, Project cargo, Mono Ethylene Glycol, Paraxyline Phosphoric Acid, Soya Bean Seeds, LPG, Palm Oil and Condensate respectively.

Cargo handling registered on upward trend at the Port where a cargo volume of 148,549 tonnes, comprising 97,530 tonnes import cargo and 51,019 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,184 Container (TEUs), 2,561 TEUs imports and 1,623 TEUs exports was handled at the Port.

Oil tanker Mer Babu sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while three more ships C.V Maersk Hartford, M.T CTG Cobalt and M.T Bunga Aster are expected to sail on same day in the after afternoon.

Four ships M.T Glorious, M.T Bunga Alamanda, Ellington and M.T Caspian Gas carrying 59,998 tonnes Diesel oil, 30,690 tonnes Palm oil 11,649 tonnes Chemicals and 1,602 tonnes LPG are expected to take berths at Fotco, LCT, EVTL and SSGC respectively on Wednesday.
