27/09/2017 (Daily Trust) - Presco, a fully integrated company into milling, refining and crystallisation of oil palm, has invested hugely in the oil palm sector.

The company currently owns 40, 000ha of oil palm plantations spread across Obaretin 6, 500ha, Ologbo 13, 100ha, Cowan with 2, 800ha and Sakponba with 17,600ha land holdings.

This was revealed by Mr Jagdish Kavathar at the ongoing Agric exhibition in Abuja.

Mr Kavathar said the company supplies big food and agro-allied companies like Nestle, Unilever, WAMCO, KFC and other multinational companies with fresh olein, a light yellow edible oil obtained from the fractionation of refined bleached and deodorized palm oil.

“This is a welcome development as imported olein took months to reach the country’s shores,” he said.

Mr Jagdish said the company is properly audited and adheres to strict internationally-recommended guidelines and principles like the FCC26000 for carrying out their activities from land clearing, processing down to packaging and distribution.

As part of their corporate social responsibility, the company exports their expertise to their host communities, adding that they also supply seedlings to them.
