13/07/2017 (Business Recorder) - PARIS: The European Union imported 272,000 tonnes of soybeans in the July 1-11 period, down from 502,000 tonnes in the year-earlier period, official data showed on Thursday.

The EU also imported 539,000 tonnes of soymeal over the same period, against 662,000 tonnes a year ago, while palm oil imports came to 125,000 tonnes compared with a year-earlier 147,000 tonnes, the data showed.

The data gave the first reported volumes for EU oilseed imports in the 2017/18 season that started on July 1.
