Shipping Activity at Port Qasim

06/03/2017 (Pakistan Observer) - Two ships C.v CMA CGM Corneille and M.T Straum carrying containers and palm oil took berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Thursday.

Meanwhile two more ships C.v Tolten and M.T Shalamar with containers and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupency was observed at the Port at 40% on Thursday where a total of six ships namely CMA CGM Corneille, MSC Silvana, Nordic Gas, Maria-III, Straum and Al-Soor-II were occupied PQA at berths to load/offload containers LPG, palm oil and disesl oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 76,141 tonnes, comprising 52,429 tonnes import cargo and 23,712 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 2,227 containers (TEUs) ( 979 imports TUEs & 1,248 TUEs exports) was handied at the Port during last 24 hours.

Two ships, oil tanker Al-Soor-II and LPG carrier Maria-III s alled out to sea on Friday morning, while two more ships, container vessel CMA CGM Corneille and edible oil carrier straum are expected to sail on same day.

A total of five ships, Tolten, Maersk Innoshima, Grand Ace-12, pacific energy and Al-Saad carrying Containers, palm oil furnace oil and LNG are expected to take berths at QICT.—APP
