Ukrainian palm oil imports fall
KIEV (May 15 2003) : Ukraine's imports of palm oil fell to 2,600 tonnes inMarch compared with 6,700 tonnes in February but were up on January whenthe ex-Soviet state bought 2,350 tonnes from abroad, analysts said onWednesday.
Analysts from one of Ukraine's leading agricultural consultancies,ProAgro, said the country's coconut oil imports fell to 400 tonnes inMarch from 599 tonnes in February.
Proagro said Ukraine had imported palm oil at an average price of $452.22per tonne in March compared with $510.72 in February.
Domestic prices for coconut oil cost stood at $647.93 per tonne in Marchcompared with $541.10 per tonne in February.-Reuters
