VEGOILS-Market Factors to Watch Dec 29
29/12/2016 (Reuters) - The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures rose to their highest in one-and-a-half weeks on Wednesday, marking a second consecutive session of gains, helped by tight supplies and improving exports.
* U.S. corn, wheat and soybean futures fell on Wednesday in technically driven trade as investors squared positions toward the end of the year and the dollar firmed, analysts said.
* Crude oil prices edged up for a fourth consecutive session on Wednesday, close to their highest levels since mid-2015, ahead of U.S. oil inventory figures and as the market awaits evidence of OPEC supply reductions in the new year.
MARKET NEWS
* Asian shares slipped on Thursday after Wall Street suffered a mild setback after weeks of gains, while the dollar stayed in demand as U.S. government debt offered ever-fatter premiums over euro zone bonds.
