Shipping Activity At Port Qasim
21/10/2016 (Associated Press of Pakistan) - Shipping activity remained active at the Port where four ships C.V Northern Jambore, M.V SJ African, M.T Hong Hai-6 and M.T M. Lion scheduled to loas/offload containers, cement, palm oil and furnace oil took berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and FOTSC Oil Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
Meanwhile five ships carrying containers, LNG, palm oil, clinker and project cargo laso arrived at outer anchorage of Poet Qasim during last 24 hours,
Berth occupancy was observed at the Poet at 67% on Wednesday where a total of tan berths were engaged by ships namely C.V Northern jambore, C.V Al-khor, M.V SJ African, M.V Cairboo, M.V Lian Hua Song, M.V lady-Z, M.V Zhen Hua-21, M,T. Gas and M.t Hong Hai-6 and M.T M.lion to load/offload containers, cement, fertilizer, project cargo, soya bean seeds, LPG and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 121,293 tonnes, comprising 79,873 tonnes imoot cargo and 41,420 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,500 containers TEUS (1,400 imports TUEs & 2,100 TUEs exports) was handled at the Port.
Container vessel Al-khor and General cargo carrier Lian hua Song sailed out to sea on Thursday morning while another edible carrier Hong Hai-6 is expected to sail on same day.
Five ships C.V Mataquito, M.V Pire-6 M.T Al-Nourman, M.T Gas Hudky and M.t Argent Iris carrying containers, project cargo, LNG, LPG and palm oil are expected to take berths at QICT, MW-2, EETL, EVTL and LCT respectively on Thursday 20th while Bochem Ghent, Patricia-V are dus to arrive at port Qasim on same day, and Attacama is due arrive on Friday, 21th.
