VEGOILS-Market Factors to Watch Oct 6
06/10/2016 (Reuters) - The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures dropped on Wednesday evening in their sharpest decline in a week, tracking weaker performing soyoil and on forecasts of falling exports.
* U.S. wheat futures rose more than 2 percent on Wednesday as signs of fresh export demand triggered a short-covering rally in a market where commodity funds hold a large net short position, traders said.
* Oil prices settled up about 2 percent on Wednesday, hitting their highest since June, after the fifth unexpected weekly drawdown in U.S. crude inventories added to support on hopes that major producers will agree to cut output next month.
MARKET NEWS
* Major U.S. stock indexes gained on Wednesday, boosted by financial shares amid encouraging economic data and by the energy sector as oil prices surged to June highs.
