VEGOILS-Market Factors to Watch Oct 5
05/10/2016 (Reuters) - The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures fell on Tuesday due to a stronger ringgit, while Chinese investors stayed on the sidelines during the National Day holidays.
* Chicago soybean prices fell on Tuesday, snuffing out a three-session rally as an accelerating U.S. harvest shifted attention back toward the prospect of record production.
* Oil prices rose in early trading on Wednesday after a report that U.S. fuel inventories may have fallen for a fifth straight week, but contracts remained near the $50 marker where many traders currently see fair value for crude.
MARKET NEWS
* Sterling slumped to a 31-year low versus the U.S. dollar on Tuesday as concerns over Britain's separation from the European Union were compounded by renewed strength of the greenback on a recent string of better-than-expected economic data.
