Shipping Activity at Port Qasim

04/10/2016 (Associated Press of Pakistan) - Brisk shipping was recorded at the Port where six ships C.V Castor-N, C.V MSC Joanna, M.T Aframax River, M.T Super Eastern, M.V Industrial Dart and Paula scheduled to load/offload Containers, Crude Oil, Palm Oil and Project cargo were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Sunday.

Meanwhile four more ships with containers, furnace oil and LNG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was managed at the port at 53% on Sunday where a total of eight berths were engaged by ships namely C.V Safmarine Ngami, C.V Castor-N, C.V MSC Joanna, M.T Aframax River, M.T Super Eastern, M.V Peppion Buttiglier, M.V Industrial Dart and Paula to load/offload containers, crude oil, palm oil, canola seeds, project cargo respectvely during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 91,279 tonnes, comprising 33,451 tonnes import cargo and 57,828 tonnes export cargo inciuslve of containerized cargo carried in 2,794 containers (TEUs) (872 imports TUEs 7 1,922 TUEs exports) was handled at the Port.

Container vessel Safmairn Ngami sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two project cargo carrier M.V Paula and M.V Industrial Dart are expected to sail on same day afternoon.

Two ships C.V Al-Kharj and M.V Sea Merchant carrying containers and project cargo are expected to take berths at Containers Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Monday.
