Training on Oil Palm Technology

28/09/2016 (The Arunachal Times) - More than 50 farmers from Mebo, Pasighat, Sille, Oyan, Bilat and Ruksin blocks participated in a two days District Level Training Programme on ‘transfer of technology of Oil Palm Cultivation’ at Samiti Hall, GTC here recently.

Resource persons from Agriculture and Officers from the Oil Palm Developer, M/s. Ruchi Soya imparted training on various know-hows and methods of Palm Oil cultivation.

District Nodal Officer Opang Moyong during technical session covered the entire packages of practices and also share his experience of Oil Palm training and fields visited in India and Malaysia.

Asking the farmers to make arrangement for Irrigation during upcoming winter season, by utilizing Water Harvesting Structure subsidy from the Govt, he guided them on how to construct the structure to obtain the subsidies.

Deputy Director Y J Lego in her deliberation hoped that East Siang district till now covered about 120 Ha under Oil Palm, further around 800 Ha Seedlings will be available from January-2017, for continuous planting. She also advised the farmers to adopt the right techniques to get desirable yield and profits, which Oil Palm gives- sustainable yields for the next 25 to 30years.

ADO Bilat Aloko Siram, ADO N Nonang and manager of M/s. Ruchi Soya Muthuselvan also shared their expertise in the field to the participating farmers.
