Officials Nominated for Study Tour on Oil Palm Cultivation Technology in Malaysia

22/08/2016 (The Arunachal Times) - Two officials from the Department of Agriculture, T D Neckom, Deputy Director of Agriculture (Dev) and Idar Nyori, Agriculture Development Officer cum Assistant State Nodal Officer (Oil Palm) have been nominated for representation in the official Indian delegation to visit Malaysia to study and understand better Oil Palm production technologies.

The visit is being organized by the Union Ministry of Agriculture, Dept. of Agriculture & Cooperation.

It may be mentioned here that the Government of Arunachal Pradesh has embarked upon an ambitious mission on Oil Palm development and production programme in potential areas of the State.

Realizing the special circumstances regarding the cultivation, gestation, sustainability, production, harvesting, processing of Oil Palm and various other regulations for its production and processing, this visit to the leading Palm oil producer and exporter country in the world is expected to be a good opportunity to explore, understand advance technologies for the crop and help in programme planning which can be replicated in the State for the benefit and upliftment of the farming community, according to a departmental release.
