22/07/2016 (Hindu Business Line) - Minister for Roads & Buildings T. Nageswara Rao has asked the executing agencies to speed up expansion work at oil palm factory at Aswaraopeta to enhance its crushing capacity for the benefit of oil palm growers.

The Minister, accompanied by Aswaraopeta MLA Thati Venkateswarlu, made a surprise inspection of the factory in the mandal headquarters on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, he said the expansion of the existing factory will help meet the burgeoning demand for processing of fresh fruit bunches in the district, the hub of oil palm cultivation in the entire State.

He said work at the site earmarked for the new oil palm factory at Apparaopeta in Dammapeta mandal is progressing at a brisk pace.

He mooted a study tour for oil palm growers to familiarise them with modern methods of oil palm cultivation.
