TDM Appoints Kamarul Bahrein As New CEO

05/01/2016 (The Star) - Palm oil plantation and healthcare company TDM Bhd has appointed Kamarul Bahrein Kamarulzaman as its group chief executive officer.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, the Terengganu state’s investment subsidiary said Kamarul, 50, was previously senior vice president and head of business banking II at Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Bhd.

He began his career with Deloitte & Touche in Singapore in 1991 providing financial auditing services to medium-sized companies, subsidiaries of multinational corporations and listed companies.

Kamarul worked in the corporate banking division of Aseambankers Malaysia Bhd from December 1995 to March 2000.

He later became director and head of public sector and GLC coverage within the global banking division of HSBC Bank Malaysia.

Kamarul replaced Badrul Hisham Mahari who resigned due to his health condition.

TDM is owned 62.19% by Terengganu Inc Sdn Bhd, according to Bloomberg data.

TDM shares fell 1.5 sen to close at 68 sen on Monday.
