VEGOILS-Market Factors to Watch Dec 21
21/12/2015 (Reuters) - The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures gained on Friday, boosted by concerns that production would be hit by year-end monsoon and expectations of higher imports by China.
* U.S. soybean futures climbed to a near two-week high on Friday on technical buying and short covering as well as concerns that dry weather in parts of Brazil may drag down yields in the world's top exporter of the oilseed.
* U.S. crude oil prices dipped in early Asian trading on Monday, heading towards last week's 2015 lows as a rebound in drilling activity, a strong dollar and brimming storage facilities weighed on prices.
MARKET NEWS
* Global equity markets fell sharply on Friday as slumping oil prices raised concerns about slower growth, while the dollar slipped against the yen on views the Bank of Japan may not ease policy as much as expected.
