JAKARTA, Feb 11 Asia Pulse - The price of crude palm oil (CPO) inIndonesia rose to Rp4,310 (US$0.51) per kg in auction yesterday fromRp4,204 last week.

The price hike was a result of stronger demand in the domestic market andan increase in price of that commodity in international markets, anofficial of the Joint Marketing Office of state plantation companiesDahlan Surbakti said yesterday.

Surbakti said the price of CPO in Kuala Lumpur rose to RM1,860 yesterdayfrom RM1,820 a week earlier and in Rotterdam the price increased to US$520per ton from US$507.50.

He said decline in supply from Malaysia, the world largest producer ofpalm oil, also contributed to the price hike.
