‘Oil Palm Growers Facing Huge Losses’
28/09/2015 (Hindu Business Line) - The CPI(M) legislator from Bhadrachalam, Sunnam Rajaiah, has vowed to highlight the plight of oil palm growers on the floor of the house in the monsoon session of the State Legislative Assembly.
According to sources, the MLA interacted with the oil palm growers at the latter’s relay hunger stir camp in Aswaraopeta on Sunday.
The aggrieved farmers apprised the MLA of the enormity of the losses being suffered by them due to the alleged failure of the management of the Oil Palm Factory in the mandal headquarters to process the Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFBs) in time.
They urged the MLA to raise the serious issue of lack of adequate processing facilities for the oil palm growers in the district during the deliberations in the State Assembly session.
