VEGOILS-Market Factors to Watch Sept 28
28/09/2015 (Reuters) - The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures surged on Friday to their highest level in 3-1/2 months, bolstered by a weak ringgit, concerns over production and as exports of the tropical oil rose from the world's second biggest producer.
* Chicago Board of Trade soybeans rallied 2.4 percent to their highest in more than a week on Friday, supported by signs of a pick-up in export demand for U.S. supplies, traders said.
* Oil prices dropped in early trading in Asia on Monday despite a fourth weekly fall in U.S. drilling activity, with analysts pointing to the weak economic outlook as the main reason for low crude prices.
MARKET NEWS
* Asian stocks struggled for traction on Monday after an uninspiring performance on Wall Street at the end of last week, while the dollar consolidated its gains against the yen and euro.
