27/02/2015 (Reuters) - Rapeseed oil was in demand on Thursday on Europe's vegetable oils market as a sharp rise in the dollar made the euro-denominated product more attractive to buyers amid a broad price rally.

Brokers reported several trades including May/July European Union rapeseed oil at 668 and 669 euros a tonne, up 11-12 euros from a trade on Wednesday.

"Biodiesel makers are buying in view of the dollar," one broker said.

The euro slipped to a one-month low against the dollar, which rose sharply against a basket of currencies on upbeat indicators about the U.S. economy.

Alternative fuel biodiesel uses different vegetable oils as feedstock, including palm, soybean and rapeseed oil.

Oils prices in Europe were buoyed by a small earlier rise in Malaysian palm oil futures and stronger gains in U.S. soybean oil futures.
