Vegoils: Market Factors to Watch on Friday Feb 13
13/02/2015 (The Star) - The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets on Friday Feb 13.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures edged up on Thursday, snapping three days of decline, as weakness in the ringgit and the announcement that Malaysia will
resume taxing palm exports encouraged buying.
* Soybean futures firmed on Thursday on signs that export demand for U.S. supplies remained robust despite expectations of bumper harvests in Argentina
and Brazil, traders said.
* Oil prices rallied sharply on Thursday after two days of losses as news of deeper industry spending cuts and a sinking U.S. dollar revived buying.
MARKET NEWS
* Major U.S. and European equity indices rallied to multiyear or record highs on Thursday after a cease-fire between Russian separatists and Ukrainian forces,
and surprisingly aggressive stimulus by Sweden's central bank, cheered global markets.
