China not expected to reduce CPO imports from Indo
JAKARTA, June 14 Asia Pulse - The Indonesia Palm Oil Commission (KMSI)said China would not reduce imports of crude palm oil (CPO) andderivatives from Indonesia, despite plan by the Chinese government to slowdown economic growth.
China has been reported to reduce CPO imports by 50 per cent to 100,000tons from normally 200,000 tons a year.
KMSI executive chairwoman Rosediana Suharto said Indonesian exports ofpalm oil to China is mainly in the form of RBD palm olein, which is usedfor food processing industry.
The Chinese government will not reduce imports of CPO as its cooking oilrequirement continues to increase from year to year especially with thesoybean harvest failure in the United States, Mrs Suharto said.
China has been a major consumer of vegetable oils including soybean oil.
