07/01/2015 (Reuters) – The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures andother vegetable oil markets.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures rose to a two-month high on Tuesday as the ringgit slumped to a 5-1/2-year low and floods raised the prospect of tightersupplies.
* U.S. wheat futures rose for a second day in a row on Tuesday on support from the deteriorating condition of the dormant crop and prospects for more damage from arctic temperatures across key growing areas, traders said.
* Global oil markets on Tuesday slumped for a fourth straight session as mounting worries about a supply glut pressured crude prices, which have fallen almost 10 percent this week to their lowest since spring 2009.
MARKET NEWS
* Stock prices fell on global markets on Tuesday, stuck in a dismal start to 2015 as tumbling oil prices and Greece's possible exit from the euro zone struck a note of fear and drove investors to safe-haven assets, including gold, the yen and low-risk government bonds.
