VEGOILS-Market Factors to Watch Dec 31
31/12/2014 (Reuters) - The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil slipped on Tuesday as traders took profits after an eight-day rally, but prices remained supported by monsoon floods that have inundated plantations, threatening to reduce output in the world's second-largest producer.
* U.S. wheat futures tumbled on Tuesday on profit taking and technical selling and as the dollar's strengthening against the euro added to already-challenging U.S. wheat export prospects.
* Crude futures closed up slightly Tuesday, getting some relief from a weak dollar but not making significant strides as traders prepared for the end of the year.
MARKET NEWS
* Asian markets were set for a cautious close to 2014 on Wednesday as worries about Greece's future in the euro zone served as an excuse to take profits on popular trades.
