Imported Cooking Oils Rule Weak with Global Futures

14/11/2014 (Hindu Business Line) - Imported edible oils ruled weak tracking bearish overseas futures, while indigenous oils gained by ₹5/10 kg on lower-than-expected arrivals of seeds in producing centres.

Vikram Global Commodities (P) Ltd quoted ₹535/10 kg for Malaysian super palm November delivery. Liberty was quoting palmolein at ₹510-512, super palmolein ₹530 and soyabean refined oil ₹612. Ruchi traded palmolein for ₹510, soyabean refined oil ₹601 and sunflower refined oil ₹635. In Saurashtra-Rajkot, groundnut oil Telia tin was up ₹10 to ₹1,310 and loose (10 kg) was flat at ₹830.

BCE spot rates (₹/10 kg): groundnut oil 850 (845), soya refined oil 595 (597), sunflower exp. ref. 580 (580), sunflower ref. 635 (630), rapeseed ref. oil 735 (730), rapeseed expeller ref. 705 (700) cottonseed ref. oil 590 (595) and palmolein 500 (500).
