Exporters Invited To Join Trade Mission To India I
KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 10 (Bernama) -- Malaysian exporters are invited to seizethe opportunity to participate in the trade mission and investment missionto India from Sept 19-28.
The trade and investment, which will cover New Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai,is organised by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI),Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) and MalaysianIndustrial Development Authority (MIDA).
In a statement Tuesday, MATRADE said seminars and business meetings wouldbe oragnised during the mission.
Importers, manufacturers and Indian businessmen will be invited for theseminars and business meetings, it added.
It said the objective of the mission was to explore business opportunitiesand collaboration and increase trade and economic cooperation betweenMalaysia and India.
It aims to promote exports of Malaysian products and services, strengthenthe existing business networking and to identify alternative sources ofimports that are competitive to Malaysia.
MATRADE said India was Malaysia's 15th largest trading partner in 2003.
Malaysia's total trade with India amounted to RM12,183 million and 2004(Jan-May) to RM6,785 million.
It said Malaysia's major exports to India in 2003 were crude petroleum.palm oil, electrical & electronic products, chemical & chemical products,and sawn logs & sawn timber.
