VEGOILS-Market Factors to Watch April 28
28/04/2014 (Reuters) - The following factors are likely to influence Malaysian palm oil futures and other vegetable oil markets.
FUNDAMENTALS
* Malaysian palm oil futures rose 0.3 percent on Friday as a recovery in exports underpinned the market but gains were limited by concerns over demand in the world's second largest importer China.
* U.S. wheat futures touched their highest level in more than a week on Friday as escalating tensions in Ukraine heightened fears of supply disruptions and forecasts for drier-than-expected weather fueled concerns about crop damage in the U.S. Plains.
* Crude oil futures shrugged off a barrage of threats and demands between Western powers and Russia over the crisis in Ukraine, slipping ahead of the weekend on profit taking and healthy supplies in North America.
MARKET NEWS
* Asian shares began the week under a cloud on Monday, after a dismal week on Wall Street and against the backdrop of increasing tension in Ukraine.
* Commodities had the best quarter in 18 months as trading for March ended on Monday, with weather and economic growth likely to determine if gas, gold, grains, lean hogs and coffee continue going higher and draw money into the space.
