02/04/2014 (Hindu Business Line) - The edible oils market was mixed with the mood being cautious on Tuesday. The volume remained isolated and need-based. On the Bombay Commodity Exchange, palmolein, groundnut and sunflower oil ruled unchanged. Soyabean and cotton refined oil declined by ₹5 and ₹2 for 10 kg each. Rapeseed oil increased by ₹3.

Sources said that weak overseas futures market pulled down sentiment here. Stockists were away while on the domestic futures market soya oil edged up on a cautious trade. On the spot, hardly 80-100 tonnes of palmolein were resold at ₹615. Expectation of higher rabi crops arrivals ept indigenous edible oils under pressure.

Vikram Global Commodities (P) Ltd quoted ₹640/10 kg for Malaysia super palmolein April delivery. Liberty was quoting palmolein at ₹625, super palmolein ₹645 and soyabean refined oil ₹660. Ruchi quoted palmolein at ₹625, soyabean refined oil ₹660 and sunflower refined oil ₹690. Allana was quoting palmolein at ₹623, soyabean refined oil ₹658 and sunflower refined oil ₹700.

At Rajkot, groundnut oil telia tin declined by ₹5 to ₹1,160 and loose (10 kg) at ₹735 (₹740). Malaysia BMD crude palm oil’s futures April contracts settled at MYR 2,689 (MYR 2,718), May at MYR 2,635 (MYR 2,656) and June at MYR 2,613 (MYR 2,634).
