BOI: Investment in Upper South Tends to Favor Palm Oil, Rubber, and Renewable Energy.
25/03/2014 (NNT) – Mr. Suwit Chuawichian, the Director of Regional Investment and Economic Center 6, Board of Investment or BoI, reports that investment in southern provinces in 2014 continues to expand, after the highest number of applications for investment promotion in the past five years in 2013. This year, the direction of investment in the South is favoring the crude palm oil and rubber industries.
At the same time, investment in local areas is beginning to diversify, especially into the renewable energy business. It is expected that in 2014 much investment will focus on this growing industry, mostly due to the South’s potential in raw materials. From 2-3 April, Surat Thani BoI will organize a training seminar to provide information to entrepreneurs who receive investment promotion in the upper South so that they know the procedures and practices involved in receiving investment promotion.
