04/02/2014 (Hindu Business Line) - The edible oils market witnessed dull trading on Monday on lack of physical demand and absence of any cues from the foreign market. The Malaysian markets were closed for the Chinese New Year. Prices for the most oils were unchanged. Cotton and palmolein declined by ₹1 for 10 kg each on higher resale pressure. Volumes remained very thin and isolated.

Towards the day’s close, Liberty was quoting palmolein at ₹582, super palmolein ₹602, super deluxe palmolein ₹622 and soyabean refined oil ₹652. Ruchi quoted palmolein at ₹580, soyabean refined oil ₹650 and sunflower refined oil ₹665. Allana was quoting palmolein at ₹579, soyabean refined oil ₹650 and sunflower refined oil ₹670. Resellers were quoting palmolein at ₹568 ex JNPT and ₹573 ex Patalganga.

At Rajkot, groundnut oil ruled steady at ₹1,120 for telia tin and loose (10 kg) at ₹720 (₹720).

The Bombay Commodity Exchange spot rates (₹/10 kg): groundnut oil 750 (750), soya refined oil 650 (650), sunflower exp. ref. 605 (605), sunflower ref. 662 (662), rapeseed ref. oil 705 (705), rapeseed expeller ref. 675 (675) cottonseed ref. oil 621 (622) and palmolein 572 (573).

Vikram Global Commodities (P) Ltd has quoted Rs. 608/10 kg for Malaysia super palmolein February delivery.
