18/11/2013 (Business Recorder) - A cargo volume of 25,849 tonnes comprising 19,668 tonnes of import cargo and 6,281 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 363 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 19,668 tonnes includes 9,900 tonnes of palm oil; 7,210 tonnes of sunflower seed and 2,458 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo includes 6,281 tonnes of containerised cargo. There is one ship namely MT Bunga Angsana sailed out to sea during the last 24 hours, while another ship namely CV MSC Carla sailed out to sea on Saturday morning. A total number of seven vessels viz CV MSC Carla, CV MSC Kerry, MV Alam Sayang, MT Bunga Angsana, MT Zao Galaxy, MV Lito and MV KPS-1 Alican Bey are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, palm oil, sunflower seed and power ship respectively during the last 24 hours.

As many as six ships namely Theo Elaktos, Lito, Eleni-D, CMB Coralie, Al Naser and Tian Wang Xing with sunflower seeds, wheat, coal, cement and project cargo are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. There were three vessels with containers and palm oil took berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Friday. There are four ships namely CV MSC Kerry, MT Sea Ambition, MV CMB Coralie and MV Tian Wang Xing with containers, palm oil, cement and project cargo due to arrive on Saturday as per arrival schedule.
