30/10/2013 (Solomon Star) - Vangunu palm oil out-growers in Marovo, Western province will witness the installation of their new portable milling machine next month.

The ministry of agriculture and livestock will assist the growers with the new machine.

National Palm Oil Coordinator George Boe said last week a company will be sought through a tender process to install the portable milling machine soon.

He said ministry is working very hard to secure the milling machine to make sure the palm oil fruits are not wasted.

“At the moment palm oil fruits are wasted as result of lack of proper machine to process them.”

Mr Boe said the machine is already in the country.

The delay is to find the right company to set up the machine in Vangunu.
