Malaysian F&B Firms Garner RM48.5 Million Sales At Anuga Trade Fair

24/10/2013 (Bernama) - Malaysian food and beverage (F&B) exporters garnered total sales of RM48.5 million at the recent ANUGA 2013 in Cologne, Germany.

In a statement on Wednesday, Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade), which coordinated the participation of 33 local F&B exporters, said confectionery products, palm oil-based products and frozen food contributed 26.7 per cent, 25.4 per cent and 19 per cent of the total sales, respectively.

At the five-day event, two Malaysian companies received awards for the most innovative products.

Foods Wise Network Sdn Bhd received an award for its "Vegetarian Curry Mutton Mushroom" while Golden Fresh Sdn Bhd received an award for its "Mango Chilli Prawn".

Occurring every two years, ANUGA is one of the largest F&B trade fairs in the world to showcase and source food and beverage products particularly for the European market.

This year's event drew 6,777 exhibitors from over 100 countries and over 155,000 trade visitors from 187 countries.
