MPOB Appoints Ar Wan Mohammad Khair-il Anuar As New Chairman

04/10/2013 (Bernama) - Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) has appointed Datuk Ar Wan Mohammad Khair-il Anuar Wan Ahmad as its chairman, effective Sept 11, succeeding Tan Sri Shahrir Abdul Samad.

MPOB said Ar Wan Mohammad Khair-il Anuar has a bachelor's degree in architecture and a master's degree from Kingston University in London.

Ar Wan Mohammad Khair-il Anuar thanked Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and Plantation Industries and Commidities Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas for their trust and confidence in him to helm MPOB.

"As MPOB Chairman, my vision is to boost the competitive edge of the country's oil palm industry at global level besides strengthening development of the oil palm smallholders' sector.

"I will also strive towards the growth of the small and medium enterprises and encourage Bumiputeras' participation in the oil palm industry," he added.
