Palm Oil Stocks Fell 11.35 Per Cent To 1.93 Million Tonnes In April

11/05/2013 (Bernama) - Palm oil stocks fell 11.35 per cent to 1.93 million tonnes last month from 2.17 million tonnes in March, the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) said Friday.

It said crude palm oil (CPO) stocks declined 9.66 per cent to 1.13 million tonnes last month while processed palm oil dwindled 13.62 per cent to 798,869 tonnes.

Palm kernel stocks gained 5.77 per cent to 121,302 tonnes last month and crude palm kernel oil stocks eased 14.05 per cent to 242,577 tonnes, it said in a statement today.

The MPOB said CPO production in April increased 3.12 per cent to 1.37 million tonnes from 1.33 million tonnes in the preceding month.

Palm kernel production last month added to 342,966 tonnes from 339,492 tonnes in March while crude palm kernel oil output declined to 157,509 tonnes from 176,929 tonnes in March.

Production of palm kernel cake fell 12.04 per cent to 174,237 tonnes from 198,094 tonnes in March.

MPOB said palm oil exports in April dropped by 5.62 per cent to 1.45 million tonnes from 1.54 million tonnes in March.

It said CPO imports in April fell marginally to 17,949 tonnes from 42,433 tonnes previously and imports of processed palm oil also declined 42.62 per cent to 27,413 tonnes from 47,772 tonnes in March.

The average price of fresh fruit bunches per tonne declined 1.39 per cent to RM23.42 per tonne in April from RM23.75 in March, it added.
