11/02/2004 08:41 UKRAINE - According to market sources, a largeshipment of crude palm oil (about 40,000 tonnes) is expected to arrive inUkraine in the first half of November.

Because of high price for sunflower oil in this season and insufficientamount of alternatives oilseeds (soybeans, rapeseeds) on Ukrainian market,some vegoil processors are planning to increase the share of tropical rawmaterial in their recipes.

According to APK-Inform market monitoring, last week most of the largeproducers of margarines and mayonnaises in Ukraine were using the earlieraccumulated stocks of raw material in their operations, restraining fromfurther purchases in expectations of further price drop for sunoil as wellas arrival of the cheaper tropical product.
