10/11/2012 (Selangor Times) - Ukraine will be promoting Selangor as an investment destination for palm-oil based manufacturing industries.

The pledge was made during a visit to the state secretariat by a Ukrainian delegation led by the city’s deputy chief administrator Yevgen A Golovin.

“Palm oil can be obtained in Selangor easily at a reasonable price as Malaysia has many palm oil plantations, The facilities are very suitable for Ukrainian investors who are involved in the palm oil-based manufacturing industry,” said Golovin.

He also commended the state for its infrastructure and a world class transport system, making it a magnet for foreign investors.

Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrhaim said the state’s open economic policy had turned it into a primary destination for investors.

He said aside from the manufacturing industry, the state is also a suitable location for healthcare, education and service industries.

The delegation also visited I-City and attended a dinner organised by the Selangor State Investment Centre (SSIC) at the Shah Alam Convention Centre (SACC).

Present at the meeting were state executive councillor Elizabeth Wong, SSIC chief executive Hassan Azhari Idris and Ukrainian ambassador to Malaysia H. E Ihor Humennyi.
