16/10/2012 (Bernama) - Despite the uncertainty in the global economy, China's oleochemicals industry expects healthy growth next year.

China Cleaning Industry Association Vice Secretary General Zhang Huatao said factors like the price of raw materials and rising labour costs, has brought on huge pressure for China's domestic oleochemicals enterprises.

"But we believe that the industry will continue to grow next year due rising demand," he said during his presentation on the China Oleochemicals Industry here today.

Palm oil is a major feedstock used in the oleochemicals industry and China is one of Malaysia's major importers of the commodity.
