Matrade Generates US$73.47 Million At Third IGEM 2012
16/10/2012 (Bernama) - A special pre-arranged one-on-one business meetings by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) in conjunction with the Third International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition & Conference Malaysia (IGEM2012) generated US$73.47 million in total sales.
Twenty foreign buyers with 28 representatives participated in the four-day event beginning last Wednesday.
IGEM 2012 is hosted by the Energy, Green Technology and Water Ministry and and co-organised by the Malaysian Green Technology Corporation, Expomal International Sdn Bhd, International Green Purchasing Network and Green Purchasing Network Malaysia.
Matrade said over 200 business meetings took place between Malaysian companies and foreign buyers from China, India, Egypt, the Philippines, Poland, United Kingdom and Trinidad and Tobago.
Among the products foreign buyers wanted to source for include biofuel, palm kernel shell, palm fibre, wood plastic composite flooring, empty fruit bunch pellets, biodegradable packaging, expanded polystyrene panels -- insulated wall panel, energy-saving aluminium panel and construction wall - energy saving.
