Globetronics Records Lower Q2 Pre-Tax Profit
15/08/2012 (Bernama) - Sarawak Plantation Bhd's pre-tax profit for the second quarter ended June 30, 2012, fell to RM21.056 million from RM30.058 million in the corresponding quarter of last year.
Its revenue also declined to RM117.991 million from RM130.249 million previously.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia today, the company said the softer performance was due to the effects of lower realised average selling prices of crude palm oil (CPO) and palm kernel as well as lower sales volume of CPO, partially offset by higher sales volume of palm kernel.
"The performance of the company is largely dependent on the production, operational efficiency and prices of CPO and palm kernel.
"We will continue to perform well for the current financial year subject to a stable market for crude oil and global oils and fats," the company said.
