14/06/2012 (Bernama) - The Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities has allocated a quota of 500 metric tonnes of palm-based cooking oil monthly, to facilitate seven local Indian tool packers manufacturers to meet their diverse needs in the oil industry.

MIC President Datuk Seri G.Palanivel said this is the first initiative given by the ministry through the collaboration with Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB) and Koperasi Suria Malaysia Bhd.

The seven companies nationwide has applied for quota from Koperasi Suria, which has divided the subsidised oil accordingly based on the companies capacity, he told reporters after chairing a meeting with representatives from the ministry, MPOB and the seven manufacturers, here Thursday.
