06/06/2012 (Business Recorder) - C.V Maersk Kingston carrying containers was allotted berth at Port Qasim International Containers Terminal on Monday last.

Meanwhile an oil tanker 'Quetta' also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim same day.

Berth occupancy was managed at the port at 36% on Monday where five ships namely ships C.V Maersk Kingston, M.V Leopard-B, M.V BBC Quebec, M.T Bow Fraternity and M.T Al-Buhaira are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, gen.cargo, palm oil and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 97,549 tonnes, comprising 87,580 tonnes imports and 9,969 tonnes exports, inclusive containerized cargo carried in 1,982 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port.

Oil tanker 'Al-Buhaira' sailed out Tuesday morning.

Two ships M.T Quetta and M.T Strilen carrying furnace oil and palm oil are expected to take berths FOTCO Terminal and Liquid Terminal respectively on Tuesday. C.V Deir and M.T is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, while two more ships C.V CMA CGM Wagner and M.T BW Orineco are due to arrive on Wednesday.
