Dompok To Lead Delegation To India To Enhance Commodity Trading
02/06/2012 (Bernama) -- Plantation Industries and Commodities Minister, Tan Sri Bernard Dompok, will lead a delegation to India to further enhance palm oil, rubber and timber trade.
In a statement, the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities said the delegation would comprise the Malaysia Palm Oil Board, Malaysia Palm Oil Council, Malaysia Rubber Export Promotion Council, Malaysia Timber Council, National Kenaf and Tobacco Board and private sectors.
The working visit, from June 3-8, 2012 would include dialogue sessions with industry players to enhance cooperation and networking among them, as well as bilateral meetings with government agencies involved in the palm oil, rubber, timber and jute industries, it said.
The statement said Dompok would deliver a keynote address and officiate the Malaysia-India Palm Oil Trade Fair and Seminar (POTS India) 2012 in Mumbai on June 7.
It said the seminar, themed 'Managing Global Challenges through Innovative Partnerships', aimed to disseminate information on the developments in the palm oil industry.
Dompok would also hold bilateral meetings with the Indian Minister of Finance, Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution and the Minister of Agriculture, it said.
