April Palm Oil Stocks Drop, Exports Record Increase

11/05/2012 (Bernama) - Palm oil stocks dropped 5.41 per cent in April to 1.848 million tonnes against 1.954 million tonnes registered in March, says the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB).

Crude Palm Oil (CPO) stocks accounted for 990,154 tonnes during the month in review while processed palm oil accounted for the remaining 858,214 tonnes.

Production of CPO rose 5.07 per cent to 1.273 million tonnes, against 1.211 million tonnes, recorded in March, the board said in a statement.

Production of palm kernel increased 3.33 per cent to 324,401 tonnes, from 313,936 tonnes, recorded in March while that of crude palm kernel oil decreased 8.35 per cent to 139,338 tonnes, from 152,038 tonnes, registered a month earlier.

Meanwhile, palm oil exports in April rose 0.14 per cent to 1.331 million tonnes against 1.330 million tonnes recorded in March.
