27/03/2012 (Bernama) - FELDA's revenue from the export of palm oil will not be affected, should the government stop importing crude oil from Iran.

FELDA chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad said this was because the export of palm oil from FELDA to Iran was worth only RM1 million a year.

"There are still many countries keen to deal with us, such as India, while our main customer for palm oil is China," he told reporters after opening the Healthy Felda Programme at Balai Felda here Monday.

Sunday, International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said the move to stop the import of Iranian crude oil would not have a negative implication on the national oil supply.

Mustapa said, although both countries were trading partners in commodities such as crude oil and palm oil, the shortfall from stopping the import of Iranian crude oil would be met by other countries.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak recently announced that Malaysia would stop importing Iranian crude oil from April, two months before the United States' sanction began.
