Indonesia Stocks: BW Plantation, Perkebunan, Tower Bersama
22/05/2012 (Bloomberg) - The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) fell 0.1 percent to 4,032.89.
Palm-oil producers: Indonesia’s government raised the April palm-oil export tax to 18 percent, from 16.5 percent this month, Deddy Saleh, director general of foreign trade at the Trade Ministry, said in a mobile-phone text message today. The base price for calculating the levy on crude palm oil exports was raised to $1,076 a metric ton from $1,017 a ton.
PT BW Plantation (BWPT) declined 1.8 percent to 1,660 rupiah, poised for the biggest drop since March 7. PT Perusahaan Perkebunan London Sumatra Indonesia (LSIP) lost 1.7 percent to 2,850 rupiah.
PT Tower Bersama Infrastructure (TBIG) , a provider of telecommunication infrastructure to wireless carriers, fell 1.7 percent to 2,925 rupiah, on course for the steepest decrease since Jan. 30. The company hired five banks to help arrange a $250 million loan. Proceeds will be used to help fund the company’s purchase of 2,500 mobile-phone towers from PT Indosat and for other capital expenditure requirements, according to the release.
