MGCC Brings Business Delegation From Rhineland-palatinate

20/03/2012 (Bernama) - A business delegation from the state of Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany, is in Malaysia for a three-day visit to explore the potential of the Malaysian market for investments, joint-ventures and other forms of business cooperation.

According to the Malaysian-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MGCC), Rheinland-Pfalz -- an economic and cultural state with focus on renewable energies and bionass -- is looking to strengthen the political cooperation between Germany and Malaysia, mainly in the areas of green technology, energy and water to ensure an even better cooperation in the future.

In conjunction with the visit that ends tomorrow, a half-day workshop on the use of biomass from palm oil production and from other industries was held today.

Ernst-Christaph Stolper, Secretary in the Ministry for Economic Affair, Climate Protection, Energy and Regional Planning of Rheinland-Pfalz, said the environmental technology industry in Germany and Rhineland-Palatinate is an important economic sector that enjoys considerable growth rates.

"The green technology sector in Rhineland-Palatinate currently makes up 10 per cent of the gross domestic product.
