24/02/2012 (Bernama), Jakarta - A Malaysian company has shown keen interest to develop a palm oil production company in West Sulawesi, said provincial governor Anwar Adnan Saleh.

He said the interest was voiced out during a visit to Mamuju recently, with three Indonesian Cabinet ministers, namely Mohamad S Hidayat (industry minister), Gita Wirjawan (trade minister) and Zulkifli Hasan (forestry minister).

"There are few international companies which were brought up by them whereby, some companies have shown interest in making investments in cane, cocoa and palm oil production," he was quoted as saying, by news agency Antara.

Anwar said most oil palm plantation industries were developed in Mamuju Utara district and had currently been expanded to Polman district.

According to the governor, industrial palm oil had potential in Mamuju Utara and could support the existence of the palm oil production company that could be developed later.
